The Bridgeport Conquest V1000 – “Sophistication, functionality and a very attractive price!”
ETG Technical Director Richard Hughes provides an overview of the Bridgeport-Hardinge Conquest V1000
The latest Bridgeport-Hardinge vertical machining centre – the Conquest V1000 – is “a highly versatile, high-performance machine suited to a wide range of manufacturing environments” in the words of ETG Technical Director Richard Hughes.
Aside from its rigidity the machine features large, robust 45mm ball screws on all axes and 35mm linear guides are standard on the X-axis with 45 size guides on the Y and Z-axes. Axis travels are: X - 1020mm; Y - 610mm and Z - 610mm.
Speed is another feature. The V1000 provides very fast rapid traverse of 43m per minute on the X and Y axes and 36m per minute on the Z- axis with a powerful direct-drive 20hp, 10,000rpm spindle motor with a 30-tool swing-arm automatic tool changer.
Another feature is the highly sophisticated yet user-friendly Mitsubishi M70V control with NAVI MILL Programming and 10.4” LCD.
As standard, the V1000 is supplied with a Heidenhain TNC 620 control. The TNC 620 is a compact but versatile contouring control for up to five controlled axes and features a flexible operating concept with either workshop-oriented programmability using Heidenhain conversational programming or offline programming to suit.
Siemens 828D and Fanuc Oi-MF controls are also available with the Conquest.
Although it is a feature packed machine as standard, there are a range of options which include part probe, tool probe, X, Y, Z-linear scales, coolant through spindle, a 4th and 5th (4+1) axis drive package, automatic power shut off, spare m-codes, chip conveyor and auto door to name a few.
"The Bridgeport Conquest V1000 Machining Centre offers a high degree of sophistication and functionality at an attractive price” adds Richard. “Like all Bridgeport machining centres, it has a great pedigree and is a machine that reflects an outstanding commitment to quality and performance without compromise"
